UI Developer with Accessibility Expertise

Job Summary

To support the state's digital modernization initiatives, the remote UI Developer with Accessibility Expertise will focus on front-end development, building accessible user interfaces for high-visibility state agency applications while ensuring compliance with WCAG 2.2 Level AA standards.

Key responsibilities

• Develop clean, semantic HTML5, CSS, and SASS code adhering to modern web standards
• Implement accessibility best practices and conduct testing using screen readers and automated tools
• Collaborate with the Lead UX Architect to ensure consistent accessibility standards across multiple projects

Required qualifications

• Strong experience with HTML5 and Semantic HTML
• Advanced proficiency in CSS3 and SASS
• Hands-on experience implementing WCAG 2.2 Level AA accessibility standards
• Experience testing accessibility using NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver
• Experience integrating front-end components into Angular or ASP.NET MVC applications
