Job Summary
To support the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Water, the part-time UIC Technical Specialist will provide program support on underground injection control, groundwater protection, and policy development, focusing on subsurface injection operations.
Key responsibilities
- Review geologic settings and site characterization related to subsurface injection projects
- Conduct background research and literature reviews on subsurface processes and site-specific investigations
- Research and write high-quality deliverables for clients while providing logistical and administrative support for project staff
Required qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in natural sciences (e.g., geology, geochemistry, or earth science)
- Understanding of Underground Injection Control regulations, particularly for geologic sequestration wells
- Fluency in MS Office applications
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge in geology, structural geology, stratigraphy, or subsurface flow and transport
