Ukraine Researcher

Job Summary

To assist in the collection, review, and management of political violence and protest data across Ukraine, the part-time Ukraine Researcher will conduct desk-based research, code incidents into an Excel template, and ensure data quality while working remotely for a minimum of 25 hours per week.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and code data on political violence and protests from various sources, including news and NGO reports
• Review and manage data to ensure quality, consistency, and reliability
• Participate in extensive training and complete exercises to meet performance standards

Required qualifications

• University degree in international relations, political science, conflict studies, or a related field
• Fluency in English, Ukrainian, and Russian
• Familiarity with Excel and experience conducting desk-based research
• Experience working with data and meeting deadlines with limited supervision
• Research focus or professional experience in conflict research or peace-building in Eastern Europe, particularly Ukraine, is a strong advantage
