Underpayment Analyst

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Underpayment Analyst to ensure accurate compensation for hospital services.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify discrepancies in reimbursement amounts using internal tools and best practices
• Investigate payment variances and contact insurance companies to resolve underpayments
• Maintain documentation of underpayment issues and participate in process improvement discussions

Required Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience with healthcare billing software and databases (e.g., EPIC, Cerner, Meditech)
• Familiarity with healthcare billing, coding, and reimbursement methodologies
• Understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks governing healthcare reimbursement (e.g., HIPAA, CMS regulations)
• Ability to maintain performance in a fast-paced environment with productivity metrics
