Underpayment Analyst

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Underpayment Analyst.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify discrepancies between expected and actual reimbursement amounts from insurance carriers
• Investigate reasons for discrepancies and contact insurance companies to resolve underpayments
• Maintain thorough documentation of underpayment issues and participate in process improvement discussions

Required Qualifications

• A working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Technical proficiency in using multiple computer screens and software applications
• Experience with healthcare billing software and databases (e.g., EPIC, Cerner, Meditech)
• Familiarity with legal and regulatory frameworks governing healthcare reimbursement, such as HIPAA and CMS regulations
• A working knowledge of healthcare billing, coding, and reimbursement methodologies
