Underwriter II

Job Summary

Underwriter II is a remote, full-time position responsible for evaluating life insurance applications to determine risk classification and policy disposition in accordance with established underwriting guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments of life insurance applications to determine appropriate underwriting classifications
• Execute underwriting policies and procedures for new business processing and departmental workflows
• Analyze medical records, prescription histories, and other relevant data to support underwriting decisions

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred
• 1-2 years of experience as an Underwriter trainee or Junior Underwriter
• Actively pursuing the LOMA Underwriting (UND) designation; LOMA 280 & 290 recommended within 1 year
• Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
