Underwriter - Transaction Risk

Job Summary

To support a dynamic team, the full-time Underwriter - Transaction Risk will assess risks and prepare insurance policies for corporate transactions, focusing on M&A transactions across the Asia Pacific region while working remotely from Australia.

Key responsibilities

• Follow underwriting guidelines and submit recommendations to the underwriting committee for Transaction Risk Insurance
• Assist and oversee external legal counsel in M&A deals while developing relationships with brokers and advising lawyers
• Identify new business opportunities and participate in special projects related to underwriting standards and legal compliance

Required qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in corporate M&A transactions or relevant TRI underwriting experience
• Bachelor's or master's degree in law, Economics, Business, Finance, or Accounting is preferred
• Fluency in English with excellent written and oral communication skills; additional languages are a plus
• Basic knowledge of legal exposures in transactions and understanding of legal documentation and financial statements
• Experience in negotiating representations and warranties or transactional risk insurance is a plus
