Underwriting Associate

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Associate, Underwriting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead underwriting and credit analysis for assigned funds, focusing on affordable housing transactions
• Prepare credit memoranda and present financial analysis at Intake and Credit Committees
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and engage with borrowers throughout the transaction lifecycle

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, or related field; Master's degree preferred
• Minimum 5 years of experience in underwriting real estate loans in relevant environments
• Experience with bespoke real estate transactions and layered capital stacks
• Working knowledge of affordable housing finance and commercial real estate financing
• Proficiency in financial modeling and Excel; familiarity with federal and state housing finance programs preferred
