Underwriting Associate

Job Summary

To support a growing Commercial Underwriting Unit, the full-time Underwriting Associate will evaluate risks for various insurance policies, perform independent verification of operations, and process policy changes in a hybrid work environment based in San Antonio, TX.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize company underwriting criteria to evaluate risks for multiple lines of business
• Perform independent verification of insured's operations and review change requests on in-force policies
• Participate in Underwriting Training for new products and projects as assigned

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with a strong score on the Wonderlic test
• Prior experience in Underwriting is a plus but not required
• Strong investigative skills and ability to utilize the internet for research
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
• Adaptability to changes in technology, underwriting guidelines, and regulatory conditions
