Underwriting Consultant

Job Summary

Demonstrating expert risk evaluation and selection, the full-time Underwriting Consultant will manage profitable business within assigned authority limits while collaborating with sales teams and mentoring junior underwriters, all in a remote or onsite capacity.

Key responsibilities

• Consult with sales and service partners to provide tailored product options for customers
• Evaluate and select risks to ensure profitable acquisition and retention of cases
• Conduct risk assessments and analyze trends to meet business guidelines and metrics

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant business experience
• Proficiency at the Senior Underwriter level
• Mastery of product provisions, plan designs, and pricing
• Strong understanding of sales/distribution processes and market trends
• Demonstrated mentoring and coaching skills
