Job Summary
To support the Underwriting department's data needs, the full-time Underwriting Database Management Specialist will extract, import, and link data from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and integrity while developing reports and dashboards to aid in rating and underwriting decisions, with the option to work remotely, hybrid, or onsite.
Key responsibilities
- Serve as the subject matter expert for Underwriting and Group Rating data, developing reports and dashboards using Excel, Access, and visualization tools
- Develop and maintain underwriting databases, ensuring accurate data integration and reporting standards
- Collaborate with IT on system enhancements and construct VBA-based applications to improve underwriting workflow efficiency
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management, Actuarial Science, Statistics, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analytics, database management, or underwriting systems in the health insurance industry
- Experience with SQL, VBA, Tableau, Power BI, or similar reporting tools
- Background in health insurance rating, actuarial modeling, or underwriting processes is a plus
