Underwriting Manager
Job Summary
Leading a team of Underwriters, the full-time remote Underwriting Manager will oversee the assessment of loans transitioning from construction to permanent financing, optimize workflow efficiency, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Key responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of Underwriting professionals to ensure efficiency and accuracy in the loan approval process
- Manage a dynamic loan pipeline, reallocating resources and providing data-driven recommendations
- Oversee the underwriting of complex residential and commercial loan applications while ensuring compliance with regulations
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience with High School Diploma/GED)
- 7+ years of experience in residential and commercial lending with significant exposure to RTL and/or DSCR underwriting
- 3+ years of experience managing teams
- In-depth understanding of mortgage underwriting processes and regulatory requirements
- Proficient with loan origination systems, preferably Encompass
