Underwriting Specialist

Job Summary

Driving profitable growth in a remote capacity, the full-time Underwriting Specialist will evaluate and underwrite new and renewal accounts while collaborating with producers to negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal accounts to meet financial targets
• Negotiate pricing and terms with producers while ensuring contract certainty
• Support policy administration and credit control processes, including training less experienced staff

Required qualifications

• Minimum of 3+ years of direct underwriting experience
• Degree in Economics, Finance, Insurance Management, or Business Administration preferred
• Specialized understanding of Commercial Packaged Property and Casualty
• Established relationships with brokers at a peer group level
• Understanding of regional/local insurance markets and competitor landscape
