Underwriting Support Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing underwriting team, the full-time remote Underwriting Support Specialist will conduct telephonic medical interviews, manage underwriting requirements, and ensure cases are complete and decision-ready for underwriters.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct structured telephonic medical history interviews with insurance applicants, gathering detailed medical and lifestyle information
• Review applications for completeness, order and track underwriting requirements, and ensure cases are organized and decision-ready
• Collaborate with underwriters and communicate with agents and applicants to clarify case details and gather necessary information

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in insurance, healthcare, or financial services
• Experience in call center or customer-facing phone environments
• Familiarity with medical terminology and underwriting processes
• Prior tele-interviewing or insurance intake experience
• Strong organizational and time management skills
