Underwriting Team Lead

Job Summary

A company is looking for an Underwriting Team Lead to oversee daily underwriting operations and mentor the underwriting team.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of quality control Underwriters conducting quality checks and reviews of loans
• Manage third-party vendors for underwriting and compliance reviews, ensuring quality and timely delivery
• Review and approve exception requests and customized guidelines, providing process improvement recommendations

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in the Mortgage Industry or related field
• High school diploma required
• Previous leadership experience preferred
• Intermediate knowledge of residential mortgage industry and applicable regulatory compliance
• Advanced knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, and VA guidelines
