Underwriting Technician

Job Summary

To support the underwriting team, the full-time Underwriting Technician will process new and renewal insurance applications, assist underwriters with routine matters, and ensure compliance with state requirements while working remotely.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine selection, evaluation, and pricing of low complexity risks within designated authority
• Communicate with agencies on routine underwriting matters and assist in data entry of insurance applications
• Issue and assemble policies upon underwriter approval and process cancellations, declinations, and reissues as requested

Required qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience; some college preferred
• Minimum of three years of related work experience in an office environment
• Knowledge of policy processing procedures and applicable insurance products
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software
• Ability to work independently on multiple tasks while maintaining productivity and quality
