UNIX Application Support Engineer

Job Summary

Supporting enterprise EDI systems, the contract UNIX Application Support Engineer will troubleshoot multi-tier distributed applications in a UNIX/Linux environment while collaborating with EDI engineers and programmers.

Key responsibilities

• Support and troubleshoot enterprise EDI front-end and translator systems in a UNIX/Linux environment
• Research and resolve customer issues related to file submissions, processing failures, and report retrieval
• Analyze and troubleshoot complex multi-tier distributed systems and application environments

Required qualifications

• 4-year degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or related field
• 6 years of application development or systems testing experience
• Strong UNIX/Linux command-line and shell scripting experience
• Experience with SQL and database integrations (Oracle or open-source databases)
• Proficiency in either C/C++ or Python development
