Urgent Admission Specialist

Job Summary

To ensure timely and accurate reimbursement for patient accounts, the full-time Urgent Admission Specialist will manage communication with payors regarding inpatient admissions and observation, perform insurance verification, and maintain authorization records while working remotely during day shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Acts as the initial point of contact for payors, submitting necessary documentation for inpatient admissions and observation
• Verifies insurance coverage and benefits, documenting information accurately in the system
• Initiates the pre-certification process and interviews patients to gather financial and demographic information

Required qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent
• 3 years of experience in Revenue Cycle, Patient Access/Billing, Collections, or Customer Service
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in word processing
• Experience with data entry and office equipment
