Urgent Admission Specialist

Job Summary

To ensure timely and accurate reimbursement for patient accounts, the full-time Urgent Admission Specialist will manage communication with payors regarding inpatient admissions and observation, perform insurance verification, and maintain authorization processes while working remotely during daytime hours.

Key responsibilities

• Acts as the initial point of contact for payors, submitting necessary documentation for authorization and notification of inpatient admissions
• Verifies insurance coverage and benefits, ensuring accurate data entry and documentation in the system
• Initiates the pre-certification process and interviews patients to gather required financial and demographic information

Required qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Three years of experience in Revenue Cycle, Patient Access/Billing, Collections, or Customer Service
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Proficient computer skills, including word processing and data entry
• Familiarity with office equipment
