Job Summary
Leading the operational backbone of grantmaking, the full-time Head of Grantmaking Operations will manage the Grants Operations Team, serve as an authority on US charitable grantmaking, and design systems to scale grantmaking efforts in a remote capacity.
Key responsibilities
- Own accountability for the full grant lifecycle, including intake, diligence, structuring, approval, payment, monitoring, and reporting
- Serve as CEA's in-house authority on US charitable grantmaking and manage compliance and risk associated with grants
- Lead and develop the Grants Operations team while fostering collaboration with grantmakers and stakeholders
Required qualifications
- Substantial hands-on experience in US charitable grantmaking from a relevant organization
- Deep knowledge of domestic 501(c)(3) grants, international grantmaking, and compliance frameworks
- Experience structuring non-standard grants and navigating complex compliance issues
- Proven track record in streamlining operations while maintaining necessary oversight
- Experience managing and developing teams, with a passion for coaching and mentorship
