USDA Underwriter II

Job Summary

Responsible for underwriting loans remotely, the full-time USDA Underwriter II will manage the entire underwriting process, ensuring timely loan approvals while collaborating with Business Development Officers and mentoring junior staff.

Key responsibilities

• Underwrite a wide range of lending products efficiently, ensuring compliance with credit policies and minimum underwriting standards
• Review and analyze deal packages, conduct initial interviews with prospects, and oversee the due diligence process
• Prepare credit narratives for approval, mentor analysts, and manage closing documentation and negotiations

Required qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent education and work experience
• 3+ years of relevant underwriting experience
• Strong understanding of financial statement analysis and cash flow assessment
• Experience in mentoring and training junior staff
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
