Job Summary
To support a growing patent practice, the remote USPTO Licensed Patent Attorney will leverage technology and AI tools to enhance operational efficiency, conduct patent searches, provide strategic guidance, and draft and prosecute patent applications for startups and small businesses.
Key responsibilities
- Leverage technology and AI-enabled tools to improve operational efficiency and customer experience while maintaining high-quality legal standards
- Conduct patentability assessments, client consultations, and advise on patent strategy for SMB and startup founders
- Draft and prosecute various types of patent applications and respond to USPTO office actions
Required qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of U.S. patent prosecution experience
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Active license and good standing before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, biotechnology, chemistry, or a related technical discipline (advanced degree preferred)
- Experience working with startups, entrepreneurs, and small businesses
