Job Summary

Seeking a full-time Utah Licensed Medical Coder, the Medical Appeals & Coding Specialist will analyze and translate medical diagnoses and procedures into numerical codes while working remotely during standard office hours, ensuring compliance with established guidelines and assisting with denials and appeals.

Key responsibilities

• Analyze and code medical records for accurate billing and reporting
• Monitor and resolve coding claim rejections and denials, composing appeal letters as necessary
• Provide training and support to team members on coding procedures and best practices

Required qualifications

• AHIMA or AAPC Certification required
• Minimum of 3 years of coding or medical billing experience
• High school education or equivalent
• Ability to independently code across multiple specialties
• Experience working effectively in a remote environment
