Job Summary

To support environmental and water planning projects, the on-call Assistant Project Water Resources Scientist will provide technical GIS support, collaborate with project managers, and execute tasks with limited supervision, working in a hybrid environment near Salt Lake City, Utah, or fully remote within the state.

Key responsibilities
  • Serving as a technical point of contact for integrating land use, environmental, and water planning projects
  • Collaborating with project managers and subject matter experts on complex multi-discipline projects
  • Developing standards and workflows to enhance work efficiency and quality
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field with a GIS emphasis (or GIS certificate)
  • At least one year in a GIS analyst role with increasing professional responsibility
  • Experience with land use, environmental, and/or water planning projects
  • Proven ability to support GIS-related aspects of water and land use planning projects
  • Experience with ArcGIS Online for managing and distributing spatial data
