Job Summary
To support environmental and water planning projects, the on-call Assistant Project Water Resources Scientist will provide technical GIS support, collaborate with project managers, and execute tasks with limited supervision, working in a hybrid environment near Salt Lake City, Utah, or fully remote within the state.
Key responsibilities
- Serving as a technical point of contact for integrating land use, environmental, and water planning projects
- Collaborating with project managers and subject matter experts on complex multi-discipline projects
- Developing standards and workflows to enhance work efficiency and quality
Required qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Geography, Biology, Environmental Science, or related field with a GIS emphasis (or GIS certificate)
- At least one year in a GIS analyst role with increasing professional responsibility
- Experience with land use, environmental, and/or water planning projects
- Proven ability to support GIS-related aspects of water and land use planning projects
- Experience with ArcGIS Online for managing and distributing spatial data
