Utility Billing Specialist

Job Summary

To support a growing portfolio of manufactured home communities, the full-time remote Utility Billing Specialist will manage utility cost recovery by reconciling provider bills, overseeing submeter installations, and ensuring compliance with state regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Reconcile utility expenses against recovered income and identify billback opportunities across multiple communities
• Coordinate submeter installations and ensure compliance with state notice requirements
• Review monthly utility line items on the P&L and support the annual utility expense budget cycle

Required qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in utility billing or revenue management
• Strong Excel skills, including proficiency with pivot tables and large GL exports
• Working knowledge of utility recapture or resident utility billing
• Ability to communicate effectively with site operations, accounting, and legal teams
• Experience with submetering programs and familiarity with multi-state utility regulations is a plus
