Utilization Management Coordinator

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Coordinator, Utilization Management to manage the authorization process and facilitate communication between hospital staff and health payers.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the authorization process from initial notification to determination and discharge
• Maintain detailed documentation in EMR systems and health payer portals
• Act as a liaison between hospital staff and health payers to ensure timely information sharing and process completion

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate degree in healthcare administration preferred
• 2 years of experience in hospital billing, follow-up, or authorization
• Knowledge of managed care contracts
• Experience with EMR systems, preferably Epic
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and insurance processes
