Utilization Review Nurse

Job Summary

To support effective patient care management, the part-time PRN Utilization Review Nurse will facilitate the Mercy Care Management model, focusing on quality patient care, safety, and financial components while collaborating on patient throughput and optimizing performance.

Key responsibilities

• Manage utilization review processes for assigned inpatient care management populations
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless care integration and adherence to best practices
• Monitor and evaluate patient throughput metrics to enhance care delivery and operational efficiency

Required qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Current nursing license in the state of residence and/or employment
• 2-3 years of experience in an acute care hospital setting
• Strong understanding of medical terminology and patient medical information
• Advanced computer skills with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks effectively
