UX Lead

Job Summary

Guiding the strategy and design direction for user-centered design efforts, the remote UX Lead will manage a cross-functional team, mentor practitioners, and deliver accessible digital solutions that align with mission objectives in support of the Department of War.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development of UX vision and design standards while ensuring delivery excellence across projects
• Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to define design strategies and conduct user research
• Mentor team members and contribute to key research and design activities, enhancing overall design quality

Required qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in UX and UI design, with proven leadership in setting UX vision and standards
• Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and experience in Agile environments (SAFe or similar)
• Bachelor's degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Design, Human Factors, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
• Experience designing end-to-end user experiences for native applications
• Ability to conduct human-centered research, including usability testing and stakeholder interviews
