Job Summary
Assisting in the identification and handling of unexploded ordnance, the part-time UXO Technician I will work remotely to support the safe detection, excavation, and transport of munitions and explosives of concern under supervision.
Key responsibilities
- Assist in identifying, classifying, and locating unexploded ordnance (UXO) and munitions under supervision
- Support excavation and recovery of subsurface anomalies and ensure safe handling and transport of UXO and demolition materials
- Operate in compliance with health, safety, and environmental protocols while preparing systems for UXO disposal operations
Required qualifications
- Completion of a DDESB-compliant UXO Technician I training course
- OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification with a current 8-hour refresher and OSHA physical
- Ability to perform duties under the supervision of UXO Qualified Personnel (UXOQP)
- Obtain and maintain an ATF Possessor clearance for handling explosives
- Working knowledge of basic MEC safety and field operations
