Job Summary

To drive strategic workforce planning and development, the full-time salaried VA Human Resources Subject Matter Expert will lead transformational initiatives at the Department of Veterans Affairs, focusing on modernizing human capital management and optimizing veteran care access.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as principal HR advisor to VA executive leadership on VHA human resources transformation initiatives and workforce strategy
• Direct strategic planning and execution of VHA human resources modernization initiatives, ensuring alignment with veteran care priorities
• Provide expert guidance on VHA-specific HR matters, including hiring authorities and compliance standards

Required qualifications

• Extensive recent experience working with the Department of Veterans Affairs or VHA human resources functions
• Master's degree from an accredited college or university
• 10+ years of experience in human resources, organizational development, or a related field
• Demonstrated expertise in VHA/VA human resources processes, policies, and procedures
• Comprehensive knowledge of Title 5 and Title 38 hiring authorities and veterans preference regulations
