Job Summary
Collaborating with the origination team, the remote VA Licensed DE Underwriter will evaluate mortgage loan applications, analyze borrower financials, and provide thorough loan decisions while ensuring compliance with regulations.
Key responsibilities
- Evaluate mortgage loan applications for compliance with company policies and regulations
- Analyze borrower financials, credit reports, and property appraisals to determine eligibility
- Collaborate with processors and loan officers to resolve questions and expedite the underwriting process
Required qualifications
- Active DE and VA underwriting certification required
- Minimum 5 years of residential mortgage underwriting experience
- Proven history of longevity in prior roles
- Strong understanding of FHA, VA, Conventional, Non-QM, and Jumbo products
- Experience with Encompass strongly preferred
