Job Summary
To support a special client project over the next 4-6 weeks, the part-time PRN VA Licensed Inpatient Medical Coder will work remotely, coding PTF charts in ICD-10 with a focus on maintaining high accuracy and productivity standards.
Key responsibilities
- Code PTF charts in ICD-10 while adhering to site-specific coding guidelines
- Achieve minimum per-hour productivity with 95% accuracy in coding
- Review and abstract health record information to ensure compliance with coding standards
Required qualifications
- At least 2 years of medical coding experience with the VA
- Active credentials as a certified coder with completion of all maintenance requirements
- Formal training in anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and reimbursement methodologies
- Familiarity with coding in VIP and various coding screens (101, 401, 501, 601, 701)
- Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and DRG assignment
