VA Licensed Outpatient Coding Auditor

Job Summary

A company is looking for Outpatient Coding Auditors (Full-Time and Part-Time Positions Available).

Key Responsibilities

• Perform multi-specialty outpatient clinic, emergency department, and minor procedure coding using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
• Conduct auditing of coding practices to ensure compliance with VHA guidelines
• Utilize coding tools such as E/M calculators and 3M Encoder for accurate coding and auditing

Required Qualifications

• At least three (3) years of relevant coding experience, preferably with VA or a government contractor
• At least three (3) years of relevant auditing experience, preferably with VA or a government contractor
• Thorough working knowledge of VHA coding guidelines and site-specific coding guidelines
• Accepted coding credentials such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CPC, or equivalent
• High School Diploma or equivalent education
