Job Summary

Offering a part-time remote opportunity, the PRN VA Licensed Outpatient Medical Coder will perform coding for multi-specialty outpatient clinics, emergency departments, and various procedures while ensuring compliance with coding guidelines and standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform multi-specialty outpatient coding using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes
• Follow site-specific coding guidelines and maintain accurate coding documentation
• Utilize E/M leveling and 3M Encoder tools for accurate coding and compliance

Required qualifications

• At least 2 years of VA coding experience
• Active coding credentials from recognized organizations (e.g., AHIMA, AAPC)
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Familiarity with E/M leveling guidelines and coding tools
• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and reimbursement methodologies
