Variant Scientist III

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Variant Scientist III to join their clinical genomics team remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform variant interpretation using a validated genetic evidence system to generate clinical reports for somatic and germline variants
• Analyze and interpret clinical and genetic information from various sources, including literature and patient records
• Develop and curate genetic content for a range of genetic disorders and support process improvements in clinical reporting operations

Required Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Life Sciences, Genetics, or related field with 1+ years of variant interpretation experience, or a Master's with 3+ years, or a Bachelor's with 5+ years
• 3 or more years of experience in somatic and germline variant interpretation preferred
• 2 or more years of experience in a CLIA diagnostic laboratory preferred
• Familiarity with next-generation sequencing and advanced copy number detection methods
