Vascular Surgery Coder

Job Summary

Proficient in surgical coding, the full-time Vascular Surgery Coder will review clinical documentation and apply appropriate ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS codes for Trauma Surgery cases, ensuring compliance and accuracy while working remotely.

Key responsibilities:

• Perform quality surgical coding on General and Trauma surgery chart types as assigned
• Maintain knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding principles, governmental regulations, and third-party requirements
• Achieve and maintain 95% accuracy in coding while managing a daily review queue and addressing re-bill processes

Required qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• 5+ years of experience in medical coding
• 3+ years of Vascular Surgery Coding experience for both inpatient and outpatient claims
• CPC certification from AAPC
• EMR experience
