Job Summary
A company is looking for a Verification/Authorization Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits, obtaining authorizations for home care/hospice services
- Review referral information for accuracy and enter patient benefit and authorization data into the EMR system
- Assist other departments in collecting client and payor information and respond to inquiries regarding referrals and authorizations
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two years' experience in a medical office or home health benefit verification or billing
- Knowledge of commercial insurance carriers' guidelines for verification, authorization, and reimbursement
- Familiarity with insurance billing and terminology
- Post-secondary education or training in business or medical billing/collections is preferred
