Job Summary

A company is looking for a Verification/Authorization Coordinator.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient eligibility and benefits, obtaining authorizations for home care/hospice services
  • Review referral information for accuracy and enter patient benefit and authorization data into the EMR system
  • Assist other departments in collecting client and payor information and respond to inquiries regarding referrals and authorizations
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years' experience in a medical office or home health benefit verification or billing
  • Knowledge of commercial insurance carriers' guidelines for verification, authorization, and reimbursement
  • Familiarity with insurance billing and terminology
  • Post-secondary education or training in business or medical billing/collections is preferred
