Vermont Licensed Child Care Technician

Job Summary

To support the Child Care Licensing Unit, the full-time Vermont Licensed Child Care Technician will manage applications for licensed child care facilities, evaluate compliance with education standards, and prepare compliance reports, working in a hybrid office-based/remote environment.

Key responsibilities

• Processing applications for licensed child care facilities and providing technical assistance throughout the application process
• Evaluating child care staff credentials to ensure compliance with established education and training standards
• Preparing compliance reports for Licensing Field Specialists to assist during licensing compliance visits

Required qualifications

• Two years of full-time college coursework or an associate's degree and two years of relevant experience in program administration, or a high school diploma with three years of relevant experience
• Experience in administering components of a licensing and certification program or records management
• Working knowledge of office management principles and practices
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and objectivity in handling sensitive information
• Proficiency in office computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
