Job Summary

To support Vermont communities in reducing future climate hazard risks, the full-time Hazard Mitigation Grants Manager - Limited Service will develop and implement Hazard Mitigation Assistance grant applications, manage awarded grants, and coordinate with various stakeholders while working in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities
  • Develop and submit Hazard Mitigation Assistance grant applications to FEMA in collaboration with municipalities and state agencies
  • Manage awarded HMA grants, ensuring compliance and supporting project execution with stakeholders
  • Participate in Emergency Operation Center activations and conduct outreach activities related to HMA opportunities
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in emergency management, public administration, risk management, natural resources, or a related field, along with two years of relevant experience
  • Alternatively, four years of experience in emergency management, risk management, hazard mitigation, federal grant program administration, or community planning
  • Experience in hazard mitigation is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work effectively with external partners on a regular basis
