Vermont Licensed Senior Corporate Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a Senior Corporate Counsel to establish and lead its in-house legal function.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor on legal, compliance, and risk matters while designing and implementing legal frameworks
• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, and support corporate governance and compliance documentation
• Develop and maintain policies for compliance, privacy, and risk management while managing outside counsel relationships

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; active membership in at least one U.S. bar
• Minimum 5 years of broad legal experience, ideally with a mix of law firm and in-house exposure
• Strong generalist capabilities in commercial contracting, corporate governance, employment law, and compliance
• Experience in a fast-paced, growth-stage or regulated industry, preferably healthcare
• Builder mindset ready to create processes and systems from scratch
