Vermont Licensed Staff Attorney

Job Summary

Joining a dedicated legal team, the full-time Vermont Licensed Staff Attorney will provide legal advice on complex laws, oversee litigation, and support policy development while working in a hybrid environment that includes both remote and in-office duties.

Key responsibilities

• Provide legal guidance on local, state, and federal laws, including contract and grant negotiation
• Oversee litigation and ensure legal compliance across Department operations
• Collaborate with Department leadership and external partners on legal and policy matters

Required qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active Vermont law license
• At least three years of relevant legal experience
• Experience in public health or human services law preferred
• Strong understanding of regulatory compliance and policy development
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, diverse work environment
