Vice President of Accounting

Job Summary

Leading the accounting and financial operations, the full-time remote Vice President of Accounting will manage the integrity of financial statements, oversee client funds movement, and ensure GAAP compliance while partnering with various departments to enhance payment processes.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Accounting organization, ensuring accurate financial statements and proper accounting treatment for transaction-related activities
• Oversee daily settlement and disbursement activities across various payment methods, establishing rigorous controls and procedures
• Own reconciliation processes and ensure a complete accounting trail for all money movements while driving automation and scalability

Required qualifications

• 12-15+ years of experience in payments accounting, controllership, or financial operations within a high-volume money movement business
• Significant leadership experience in a FinTech, payment processor, or financial institution
• Strong knowledge of payment methods, reconciliation processes, and GAAP accounting principles
• Experience designing controls and processes for managing client funds and transaction flows
• CPA strongly preferred; Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field required
