Vice President of Federal Affairs

Job Summary

Strategically leading engagement with the U.S. federal government, the full-time remote Vice President of Federal Affairs will serve as a senior advocate before Congress, focusing on defense, national security, and technology policy while managing legislative strategies and fostering bipartisan relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as Salesforce's senior representative before Congress, particularly with defense and technology committees
• Lead strategy around the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) and the federal appropriations process
• Develop and execute a comprehensive congressional engagement strategy while managing outside consultants and advocacy partners

Required qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in Congress, the Department of Defense, or the national security enterprise
• Significant prior experience as a senior congressional staffer or national security advisor
• Deep expertise in defense, intelligence, and national security policy, particularly regarding great-power competition
• Proven relationships with senior Members or staff on relevant congressional committees
• Strong understanding of federal procurement and the dynamics of defense policy
