Job Summary

To improve the legislative and regulatory environment for state health plans, the full-time Vice President of Government Affairs will serve as a liaison to state government entities, develop strategic relationships with policymakers, and analyze the impact of legislative issues on the organization.

Key responsibilities
  • Assist in developing state legislative public policy concerning insurance and Managed Care Organization regulations
  • Represent the state health plan and Centene Corporation to outside trade groups and state legislators
  • Identify and evaluate the impact of state legislative and regulatory issues, advising management accordingly
Required qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Policy, Government Affairs, Business Administration, or equivalent experience required
  • Master's Degree or Law degree preferred
  • 5+ years of related experience with extensive knowledge of state legislative and regulatory processes
  • Experience with health care trade associations and Medicare/Medicaid laws and regulations
  • Previous management experience including hiring, training, and performance management
