Vice President of High-Risk Payments

Job Summary

Owning the high-risk payments business end to end, the full-time remote Vice President of High-Risk Payments will manage the P&L, risk posture, bank and processor relationships, and payment operations while driving revenue and product strategies.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the payments P&L, including revenue strategy, pricing governance, and margin management
• Establish and enforce risk appetite and underwriting policies, ensuring compliance with industry standards
• Develop and maintain relationships with banks, processors, and partners to support merchant onboarding and operations

Required qualifications

• 8+ years in payments, fintech, or merchant acquiring, with at least 5 years in high-risk environments
• Proven experience managing a payments P&L or business unit, not just a functional team
• Existing relationships with acquiring banks, processors, and gateways
• Deep knowledge of Visa and Mastercard monitoring programs and corrective actions
• Experience underwriting high-risk ecommerce verticals such as nutraceuticals and subscription offers
