Job Summary
To support the legal advocacy efforts for public charter schools, the remote Vice President of Legal Advocacy will lead litigation strategies, engage with local counsel, and develop national legal initiatives to protect and strengthen the charter movement.
Key responsibilities
- Engage in federal and state litigation to protect charter schools as public schools
- Identify and vet high-risk/high-opportunity cases to preserve and expand charter climates
- Develop in-person and virtual trainings to support network learning and cultivate new attorneys
Required qualifications
- J.D. with 7 or more years of federal district and/or appellate litigation experience
- Experience with media and communications as part of litigation advocacy campaigns
- Strong understanding of education law and public policy
- Proven ability to identify, analyze, and balance risk and opportunity
- Demonstrated success working cross-functionally to advance a unified advocacy agenda
