Job Summary
Leading a high-stakes global communications strategy, the full-time Vice President of Methane Communications will architect EDF's narrative on methane reduction, manage a team of six, and oversee a significant budget, all while working remotely or from locations in Washington DC or New York.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and drive a proactive global methane communications strategy, crafting narratives to influence policy and stimulate corporate action
- Elevate the profile of signature methane initiatives and navigate politically sensitive terrains to maintain credibility across diverse constituencies
- Coordinate messaging with key allies and represent EDF at major forums, while leading a high-performing team and managing the communications budget
Required Qualifications
- At least 15 years of experience in communications or a related field, with a strong preference for advocacy sector experience
- Proven success in developing and executing strategic communications campaigns for national and global audiences
- Exceptional writing and storytelling skills, capable of translating complex environmental science into accessible narratives
- Strong contacts in global media and national outlets, with multilingual skills highly valued
- In-depth knowledge of climate issues and experience communicating with diverse sectors, including financial audiences
