Vice President of Underwriting

Job Summary

Leading the underwriting strategy for Life, Absence, and Disability, the full-time remote Vice President of Underwriting will manage a team of nearly 200 employees, drive profitability through effective risk selection, and collaborate with senior leadership to enhance operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Own the LAD underwriting strategy, ensuring appropriate pricing and risk management to drive profitable growth
• Develop and invest in the LAD Underwriting department, fostering a culture of high performance and innovation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve industry-leading underwriting results and maintain competitive advantages

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Math, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• Minimum of 12-15 years of progressive experience in Group Insurance or financial services, with at least 10 years in group underwriting
• 7+ years of management experience with demonstrated success in cross-organizational partnerships
• Strong background in workplace benefits related to life, absence, and disability products
• No professional certification required
