Virginia and North Carolina General Counsel

Job Summary

A company is looking for a General Counsel for Virginia and North Carolina operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary legal advisor to the CEO and executive team, managing legal strategy and outside counsel
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and oversee licensing requirements across operating states
• Draft, review, and negotiate contracts while managing legal risks and corporate governance

Required Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Active license to practice law in Virginia and North Carolina
• 7-10+ years of experience in real estate, title insurance, and regulatory compliance
• Experience in contract drafting and negotiation, preferably within the title insurance or real estate industry
• Demonstrated experience advising executives in a rapidly evolving business environment
