Job Summary

Working part-time, the Benefit Program Specialist I/II will determine eligibility for various social services assistance programs, conduct client interviews, and process applications, with the potential for remote work based on experience and proficiency.

Key responsibilities
  • Conduct interviews to assess eligibility for assistance and re-evaluate ongoing eligibility
  • Process applications for financial assistance, explaining client responsibilities and program options
  • Evaluate social factors influencing eligibility and compute assistance plans based on gathered data
Required qualifications
  • High school diploma with additional training or related work experience
  • Some knowledge of basic human behavior and interviewing techniques
  • Ability to operate a personal computer and use agency software
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information and exercise sound judgment
  • Effective communication skills, both orally and in writing
